Business
Eric Piatt motioned to skip the review of the May
2000 meeting minutes with a unanimous second as a printed copy was not available
for review.
Motion was made by Board President Jim Dunion for acceptance
of the Boston Metro Clearcase Users Group By-Law's. Andrew Mason gave a second
to the motion and the membership, by voice vote, unanimously accepted the
By-Law's.
New Business
Dave
Darby was unable to make it to the meeting for the scheduled Clearcase
Performance Question and Answer session. The location of Dave's May 2000
Performance presentation is available on the BMCCUG web site, (http://www.penguin-inc.com/bmccug/#PPM)
At 1720
Paul Honrud of Baydel Networks (http://www.baydel.com/) gave a presentation
entitled 'Understanding Clearcase I/O Performance and its Demands on Storage'
followed by a break at 1800.
At 1810, a product presentation of RAID 3
disk drive storage systems was given by Linda LaPorta of Baydel Networks
followed by a 30 minute general question and answer session among the
membership.
Following the general question and answer session, President
Jim Dunion opened a discussion on the subject of technical recruiter
solicitation at BMCCUG meetings.
It was decided by the membership not to
invite technical recruiters to BMCCUG meetings, but to instead allocate an area
on the BMCCUG web page for job postings specific to Configuration Management,
Clearcase Administration and Release Engineering. In addition, it was decided
that the Board of Directors shall be empowered to screen all job postings prior
to being made available on the groups web site.
A motion to accept was
offered by Jim Dunion and unanimously approved by a voice vote of the
membership.
The next order of business was discussion of the next meeting
time and place of the BMCCUG. A motion was offered and approved by a majority of
the membership to have the next meeting as follows:

Interoperability
A Rational Clearcase t-shirt drawing was held as the
last item of business. Winners were drawn at random from those who submitted
feedback sheets on the nights meeting.
A motion to
adjourn the meeting was offered at 1910 with unanimous
approval.
