  Challenging position in a leadership role within the Build Engineering team in a software engineering organization. This position requires the experience and skills to manage the current build environment as well as design and implement a new, multi-platform build environment for an emerging product. The position represents an opportunity to grow into a management position and is ideal for someone ready to go to the next level in Build Engineering.
• Required Skills:
  Functions in Build Engineering include:
  * Manage an overall build release branch framework, including the creation of sub (feature) branches.
  * Perform code merges into the release branch
  * Validate the feature branch merge plan.
  * Provide information based on check-in logs to feature branch managers.
  * Ensure client builds happen and follow up to correct problems.
  * Check server build logs in case of failure and track down source of failure.
  * Check build failures not associated with the code base (e.g., hardware, configuration).
  * Provide feature builds as appropriate.
  * Integrate the automatic testing procedures into the build process. This involves modifying the build scripts to start and monitor the automated tests after a successful build. This does not include maintenance of automated tests or the development of new tests.
  * Cutting CDs used for release. Skills and Experience Required
  * BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
  * 8+ years of build engineering experience.
  * Proven ability to plan and manage ClearCase (UNIX and NT)
  * Experience and strong working knowledge of IMAKE (or makefiles), Dev Studio, Builds, PERL, VisualBasic.
  * First-hand experience with Software Configuration Management activities, including:
  * Creating the branch for a release
  * Performing the nightly builds of the product client and server software
  * Producing the storage media for testing and release phases.
  * Building loads for Test organizations
  * Performing builds for patches
  * Uploading patches to the ftp site
  * Work effectively with different people (interpersonal skills).
  * Interface with a large group of developers and managers.
  * Operate without extensive supervision.
