Job Description:
The Principal Software Engineer Configuration Management is responsible to visualize
and implement a software tools strategy within the CM team, and for the entire engineering
department, that provides for an increase in efficiency. This is a great opportunity for
a senior/lead CM engineer with a strong ClearCase background.
Accountability & Scope:
This person reports into the Manager of Configuration Management and will be an individual
contributor on the Configuration Management team, responsible for script development and
release engineering to support software development engineers.
Essential Functions & Major Responsibilities:
Responsible to contribute to the configuration management direction for the company.
Responsible to visualize and implement a software tools strategy within the engineering
department that provides for an increase in efficiency. Will develop and use existing
tools to produce builds of the highest quality. Produce major software releases, beta
release and maintenance patches on Unix and Windows platforms. Drive, design, test,
and rollout new source code management tools and provide CM support for remote
development groups. Responsible to evaluate industry-wide tools and new developments
in source control and build technology.

Required Skills:
| Minimum of 8+ years of experience within software configuration management, tools development or build and release environments. Must possess a strong understanding of release engineering and configuration management tools and processes. Must demonstrate a solid understanding of the development process
Must have hands-on experience with Perl, make, shell scripting. Rational ClearCase required and CVS experience is highly preferred
Strong experience with Windows platforms and Windows/UNIX crossplatform development. Ability to design, test, and execute a software support project. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Education Desired:
BSEE/BSCS or equivalent work experience
