Job Description:
Manage team of professionals to ensure reliable software configuration management practices and methods.
Manage software asset repository and software baselines.
Interface with development and testing organizations throughout development lifecycle to ensure proper process and quality objectives are achieved.
Performs a combination of the following duties according to departmental guidelines:
Manages the work activities and staff of an applications programming area and has full management responsibility for the performance and development of subordinate staff in accordance with corporate strategic direction.
Executes administrative and operational policies consistent with department/corporate goals, strategic planning and growth objectives
Works closely with client departments in the development, testing, and implementation of application programs.
Participates in the development, planning and scheduling of application programming projects and coordinating the activities of the area with other managers in the IT function.
Prepares, manages and reports on annual budget.
Prepares activity and progress reports regarding the activities of the applications
programming section.
Acts as resource to develop staff in all phases of the application development and
implementation process.
Acts as liaison between clients and applications area. Analyzes problems outlined by systems staff in terms of detailed requirements and capabilities.
Participates in the identification of information technologies which assist the functional business units in meeting their strategic objectives.
Stays up to date on trends and developments within functional area of expertise and the insurance industry.

Required Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of Software Configuration processes, tools and products. Experience with implementing SCM disciplines into
Understanding and exposure to Software Development Lifecycle. Some programming experience desired.
Strong management and leadership experience including excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, ability to influence across organizations, and ability to manage resource plans.
Project Management experience with success in delivering small projects and participation in larger software programs, able to perform project planning, track project progress and manage project risks.
Solid knowledge of the system development life cycle, and system and application program development technological alternatives.
