  • Job Description:
  • The Configuration Management team supports Avid’s Engineering organization by providing ClearCase administration, supporting the developers and release engineers for configuration management problems, and developing tools that improve the engineer’s development environment. This would include support of the existing ClearCase environment plus using a variety of programming and scripting languages to build new tools that can be used to support Avid Engineering’s development process. Knowledge of release engineering is also helpful, in order to support the product release team as they build and release software across multiple delivery platforms including Macintosh, Windows, and UNIX. Should have experience working with a configuration management system and tools development. Perl expertise is a plus, as is ClearCase experience.
  • Responsibilities also include Release Engineering duties associated with build process creation and maintenance, installer creation and maintenance, generation of distribution media, archiving releases for re-identification, creating and maintaining documentation and functioning within a fast paced environment where the ability to be responsible for multiple products is a must.
  • Required Skills:
  • 6-8 years experience with industrial software development processes
  • Experience using configuration management tools
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Proficient in writing scripts
  • A working knowledge of Windows and UNIX/LINUX environments
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills
  • Teamwork skills
  • Experience in tools development
